Yeonsu-gu
Let’s create together! Happy Yeonsu Realiaing Its Dreams!
One day when the master Cheng-guan reached nirvana, he pronounced that his words would be flourished in a small land in the east where the sun rose. At that time, two of his best pupils headed to the small land in the east where the sun rose, as spoken by master Cheng-guan, to receive the mantle riding two white horses. They ran with their utmost efforts and finally reached the middle of a mountain facing China, which was Mt. Cheongryang in Songdo today. Upon reaching here, they were not able to make a step forward and stopped. For this reason, it is said that someone made two horse statues at the temple site of Hongryunsa Temple (Inmyeongsa Temple in the past). Based on such story, the name of Mt. Cheongryang is said to be originated from Mt. Wutai in Shanxi, China.
